The S&J 97101E High Pressure Drip Trap with Electric Actuator provides for the automatic, continuous, safe removal of condensate from low points in high pressure gas piping systems. The S&J 97101E is available in 4 quart or 6 quart sizes and with 1” NPT inlets and outlets. It easily adapts to any condensation or drainage collection requirement. Removing condensed liquid protects the piping and equipment from corrosion and “water hammer” damage. The 97101E can be mounted in Class 1, Division 1, Gas Group D rated areas.
The unit automatically collects liquid until the drain valve is electrically opened. The inlet valve is electrically closed prior to opening the drain port allowing for the removal of condensate without gas escaping.
With its electrically automated ball valves, the rotary actuator and controls provide an interlock for safe operation. To control the fill and drain sequence of the drip trap, a timer is available. The timer is user programmed and set to control operation of the drip trap in intervals of 10 minutes to 10 hours.
An optional Local Control Panel, the 97101P, is also available in NEMA 4X or NEMA 7 enclosures. When this model is selected, choose the 97101E option with no timer.
The S&J 97101E is available in Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel body options. It is especially designed for wet methane which is the main component of digester gas streams in municipal waste water treatment facilities.
