L&J has pushed the transmitter envelope once again for Mechanical Tape Gauge Encoder/Transmitter by developing
Smart Flash technology for the MCG 2000. Smart Flash enables the user to
upgrade the transmitter by merely running a simple application that
automatically reprograms the electronics. L&J is the only company offering
this type of technology. Retro-fit kits are also available for your current
transmitters.

On Board Diagnostics
- Displays Level, Temperature, Date, Time and various process inputs.
- On-board diagnostics include condition of on board parameters such as:
- supply voltage
- component current draw
- chip voltage
- watchdog status
- Diagnostic data can be sent back to a gauging
system to diagnose, prevent or anticipate field failures.
- Logging of Level History and Alarm History with
time stamp (optional upgrade)

- User can change any
configurable options
on the gauge or transmitter
- Configure via MCG 2150 Infra-red Remote Calibrator locally.
- Configure via Winflash© or Wingauge© application software in control room or shop area.
- Calibration without violating hazardous classification.

Flash Programming
- Allows the gauge to be upgraded, updated or completely changed to function differently.
- Potential upgrades:
- Add new features and options
- Change protocol in future for communication with equipment that does not yet exist.
