The MCG 1600 SFI
Radar Gauge...

Smart Flash Infrared" Technology
for Virtually Every Application!

Through the forward thinking of L&J Engineering's research and development laboratories, L&J has developed a family of radar gauges available with different accuracy levels but with the same high reliability and repeatability as all MCG "Smart Flash" gauges and transmitters. The MCG 1600SFI Series is available for both land and marine applications.

MCG 1600SFI Radar Gauge with Optional Parabolic Antenna

The SFI Family of Level Gauging

Concept

  • Most recent update to MCG series of level gauges and transmitters
  • SFI stands for Smart Flash Infra-red.
  • Incorporates programmability and features of the S, SS, SSI, and XL versions with new flash feature.
  • Surface mount technology.
  • Backward compatible.

On Board Diagnostics

  • Displays Level, Temperature, Date, Time and various process inputs.
  • On-board diagnostics include condition of on board parameters such as:
    • supply voltage
    • component current draw
    • chip voltage
    • watchdog status
  • Diagnostic data can be sent back to a gauging system to diagnose, prevent or anticipate field failures.
  • Logging of Level History and Alarm History with time stamp (optional upgrade)

Configuration

  • User can change any configurable options on the gauge or transmitter
  • Configure via MCG 2150 Infra-red Remote Calibrator locally.
  • Configure via Winflash© or Wingauge© application software in control room or shop area.
  • Calibration without violating hazardous classification.

Infrared Calibrator (Bottom Left) and
PDA (Bottom Right)

Flash Programming

  • Allows the gauge to be upgraded, updated or completely changed to function differently.
  • Potential upgrades:
    • Add new features and options
    • Change protocol in future for communication with equipment that does not yet exist.
  • Update or upgrade “on-the-fly”
  • Minimal amount of down time
  • Flashable via PDA, Laptop or Desktop computer.
