Float and Tape Gauge
The gauge is a float actuated tape driven gauge and by means of a digital counter indicates float travel
accurately to 1/16". This gauge meets all of the specifications and recommendations of the American
Petroleum Institute in accordance with API Bulletin 2509B. It comes equipped with the Shand & Jurs
Acutrak 90™ modular cartridge which is an innovative tape spooling device.
Absolute Optical Encoding
The electronic transmitter provides absolute optical encoding of the tape gauge movement into a
digital signal. Due to this absolute encoding, this transmitter retains level information in the event of a
power loss and, therefore, never has to be re-calibrated. This encoding also eliminates inherent drift
unavoidable in analog transmitters.
Field Programming and Calibration
Field programming and field calibration are easily performed using an L&J MCG 2150 infrared hand
held calibrator which eliminates the need for equipment to be disassembled. All input parameters can
be verified using the on board LCD panel. An optional ground level display eliminates the need for
tank climbing.
